Diamond painting is a tasteful cross between paint by numbers and mosaic art with a cross-stitch finish. It is a unique art form where you paste diamonds on to a canvas, that has a certain design of your choice, to create a magnificent painting.

What Makes Diamond Painting So Special?

As unique as this art form is, diamond painting is also a very therapeutic activity. This is a hobby that would keep you occupied for days or even weeks without you getting bored.

A hobby that calms your nerves, brings together your whole family (because kids and adults love it alike), a hobby that is easy yet challenging, calming and intriguing, affordable yet priceless- what else could one ever need?

Smoothing out the wrinkles
Your favorite diamond painting kit just arrived and the canvas is all wrinkly? Don’t worry, we have some hassle-free, easy-to-do hacks for you to get rid of all those annoying wrinkles.

Sleep on it.
Yes! Works every time. How, do you ask? Follow these simple steps to un-wrinkle your diamond painting canvas.

1. Well, all you have to do is to spread out the canvas under your mattress and cover it again under mattress.

2. Sleep on it for a night or two.

3. Voila! This will do the job just right for you.

Hold your wrinkly canvas hostage under a set of heavy books or any heavy object.

What you’ll need to do:

1. Smoothen out your diamond painting canvas on a flat surface.
2. Put a couple of books or any heavy object of your choice on all four sides to make sure it lays flat and straight.
3. Then pile up all the books over the canvas and leave it undisturbed for a few hours.

Make sure the canvas is all straight before you place the books on it though.  Set it tight under the books or the heavy object to make sure all the wrinkles are smoothed out.

Iron it.
It is as easy as it gets folks. An iron can be your savior but you will have to be very, very careful with it as an iron set on high heat will burn the canvas for sure.
Step by Step Instructions:

1. Place your canvas on a flat surface.
2. Cover it with a thin cloth.
3. Set the iron on low heat and carefully iron out all the wrinkles on the canvas under the cloth.
Make sure you set the iron on low, or you might burn the cloth and/or the canvas. The cloth is to protect the canvas from the direct heat of the iron and any possible damage.

Spray it.
With a wrinkle remover! Wrinkle removers are these absolute life-savers that magically smooth out wrinkles on fabrics. Now, this hack is only for the canvases made of fabric. Lay your canvas straight on a flat surface, pin all its four sides under heavy books and spray an even layer of wrinkle remover on your fabric canvas. Dab the excess spray with a clean cloth and let it sit for 30-40 minutes. The wrinkle remover will do its job and you will have a smooth, wrinkle-free canvas within an hour!

Now that your canvas is wrinkle-free, you can finally start building your sparkling masterpiece! Happy painting.
